The Best Hikes for First Time Visitors
Among the most photographed vistas in the park, the Valley View Overlook Trail is a one mile round trip in the park’s west side. The Signal Hill Trail is a great way to explore an amazing set of old Hohokam petroglyphs. The Rincon Valley Trail, in the eastern district, offers real backcountry solitude for longer hikes.
When to Visit and What Each Season Delivers
The best traveling season is October through April, between the temperatures of fifty and eighty degrees and when the desert is most inviting. From July through September, the summer monsoon season brings raging afternoon thunderstorms and the profusion of wildflowers along with them, painting a picture that could seem impossibly green and alive.
